Festive Fits, Cozy Looks, and More Black Friday Deals from Lane Bryant

This post is sponsored by Lane Bryant. All thoughts and opinions my own, as always!

It is no secret that I love a sale, and doubly so when it is a discount on things I am actually looking for. Lane Bryant is a long-time favorite of mine for everything from coats to pants to wide-fit shoes, and their party collection this year is full of sparkly goodness – which is perfect, because I am finally getting around to shopping for holiday looks! So I was so excited to get a chance to try out some of my top picks on major sale for Black Friday. With 50% off apparel, accessories, and sleepwear sitewide, and daily doorbusters this weekend, this is definitely the time to pick up anything you’ve been eyeing.

I always love holiday dressing – it is a great chance to get to wear all the color, sparkle, and shine we want to, and the styles that come out this time of year always speak to my statement-loving heart. Indeed, the only problem I had while looking at the 2022 Lane Bryant holiday collection was trying to narrow down what to get – my wish list was 20+ deep after looking at all the cute dresses, jumpsuits, and separates (including a very chic and on-trend red velvet suit!)

In the end, I decided to go with this gorgeous red satin faux wrap dress. The billowy sleeves and the high slit update this classic silhouette, and the lush crimson hue made this a holiday vision. And importantly, in addition to being cute, it is comfortable. I’m an 18/20 and went with the 20 in this style to make sure I had enough bust room, and the fit was great throughout. If you want an attention-grabbing holiday statement dress that is also wonderfully flowy, this is an excellent option. It is versatile enough to wear beyond holiday too – I’ll be pairing this with my LB over-the-knee boots for a winter look, and with sandals next year to take it into summer.

But for now, I wore it with this stunning pair of velvet platform heels. If you’ve been a reader for a while, you probably know I am a Lane Bryant shoe enthusiast: I’ve been wearing and recommending Lane Bryant shoes and boots for almost a decade now.  Their shoes are true wide fit and made with comfort in mind, and when I see a style I like, I know it will work for me. So a chance to shop them on major sale is always very appreciated. Platform heels like this are trending, and I’ve been wanting a crystal bow heel in this style for a while, but the popular iterations of both just do not work on my feet (lots of discomfort and toe pinching). But thankfully, Lane Bryant came through yet again, and I got the exact look I’ve wanted without having to squish my pinky toe into oblivion. One thing to note about this style: This shoe comes in half sizes, and it runs a smidge on the large side. I’m typically either an 8W or 8.5W in LB shoes, and got the 8.5W, but if I was ordering again I’d get the 8W. Basically, if you are between sizes, size down to the next half size, because this style is roomy!

I’m also a big fan of Lane Bryant’s jumpsuits, and this delicately studded velvet number immediately called to me when I saw it online. I tried it on the minute I got it in the mail, and I’m happy to say it is everything I hoped for. The wide leg silhouette is spot on trend, and the stretch velvet is so, so comfortable. The little gold tone studs elevate this from the typical velvet jumpsuit without being too over the top, so this is a great pick if you want to nod to the festive season without going full sequin. And because it is more subtle, this is the type of piece I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of, making it an even better deal during their Black Friday sale.

But if you want to go full shine this holiday season (a decision I always wholeheartedly support), Lane Bryant has you covered there too! There are sequins galore this year, from dresses to jackets to jumpsuits to jeans (all on sale right now!), and a bunch of chic metallic pieces like this pleated silver midi. This style is such a statement, and I was ready to dance when I put it on. One thing to note: If you want the more voluminous look on the site, go up if you are between sizes. I’m an 18/20 and got the 18, and the look is sleeker in this size.

I absolutely love the disco vibes of this dress, and decided to amp them up with a bold lip and metallic platforms (another steal from the Lane Bryant shoe section). As I mentioned before, my LB heels are so much more comfortable than others, and this pair is no exception. Once I put these on for this dress, I wore them for the rest of the day with no discomfort – and I’m not a heels girl at all. If you are looking for a pair of metallic platform sandals, try these out.

When it comes to once-yearly sales like this, I tend to start by looking at big-ticket items, so this time I went straight to the coat section after picking out my holiday party pieces. This beautiful faux fur coat is so of the moment, and the rich blue color is even prettier IRL. The faux leather detailing at the zipper is a really cool touch too, and one that differentiates it from the typical fur jacket.  I’ve only had this coat for a few days now and I’ve already gotten a ton of compliments on it. I also love that the style is one that works just as well over jeans and a tee as it does with a glittery holiday party look. This coat is true to size too, with the 18/20 fitting perfectly on me. Basically, you can expect to see me wearing this coat a lot this season!

P.S. Party-ready coats like this one and their classic moto jacket aren’t the only outerwear styles on sale this Black Friday! Their excellent packable puffers and winter-ready parkas are all 50% off too, and this is definitely time to shop if you are eyeing one. As I’ve mentioned countless times before, good plus size coats tend to sell out early in the season, and pickings tend to be slim when the true cold snap comes in January. And Lane Bryant’s winter coats are a perennial top recommendation of mine, because they are specifically cut and fit with plus size bodies in mind, something that makes all the difference when it comes to heavy outerwear.

I also love to stock up on sweaters when there is a good sale at Lane Bryant, so I made sure to try out their Classic Puff Sleeve Rib Sweater, because I’ve been looking for a versatile cream sweater this year. It is delightfully soft and cozy without being too heavy, and this is another piece I bet I’ll be wearing a lot this season. I paired it with their fun Sequin Joggers for a laid-back holiday sparkle look, and I love how it came together. I added the heels while we were outside, and that definitely made it more of a party fit, but I think it is more likely that this is a look I’ll be wearing with cozy socks on the couch with family. The fact that these joggers are fully lined with a soft fabric and you can’t feel the sequins at all on the inside makes them a festive alternative to sweatpants that I love. I got the size 20 in these because I prefer to err on the larger side for jogger styles, and that was the right call for me – they fit just right in the 20.

Of course, I couldn’t try everything that I loved from the Lane Bryant Black Friday Sale – there are just too many good pieces! But if you are looking for more recommendations to shop during this big once-yearly sale, I’d say check out their bras (their High Impact Sports Bra is my one true sports bra recommendation for full busts!), their jeans, and their pants (the cut and fit of their wide leg trousers is excellent). I have all of these LB pieces from previous seasons and love them, so snap them up while they are on sale if you are in the market for any!
