Cute and Cozy Fall Boots Lookbook with Lane Bryant

There is something wonderful about snuggling up in sweaters and boots on a crisp autumn day.  That quintessential fall feel is finally here in NYC, and I am taking advantage.  Lane Bryant‘s boot options are so good this season (and all available in wide width and wide calf!), so I’ve styled three looks around my favorite pairs:

Look 1: Combat Cute

Lace up combat boots are a key style this fall, but as anyone with wide calves knows, finding the right fit can be a pain – not to mention lacing and unlacing them every time.  So when I slipped on this pair easily and they fit my calves with room to spare, I was pumped.

The lacing is real, so you can adjust the fit at the ankle and calf, but there is also a functional zipper on the inner leg, taking the ordeal out of getting them on and off.

I paired the boots with my favorite completely opaque leggings – these actually have stirrups for extra fashion oomph, while  still serving as an awesome layering staple.

Worn with a deep green perforated sweater layered over a criss-cross bralette, the look nods to the military-inspired trend without being too literal about it.

I also loved how the perforations echo the grommets on the boots – they felt like a natural match.  Also important to note: These boots are incredibly comfortable!   Perfect for a day in the park and wandering around downtown.

Look 2: Thigh High and Cozy

One definition of an ideal outfit for me is wearing something that looks pulled together put feels like PJs.  This thick ponte fit and flare dress fits the bill, and the suede over the knee boots keep your legs warm while the block heel keeps them walkable.

I’ve been looking for a good pair of block heel suede over the knee boots since that omnipresent Gigi Hadid campaign last year.  None that I’ve tried fit my calves and stayed up on my thighs until I tried this Lane Bryant pair.  The lace up detail in the back allows for the perfect fit on the thigh.  Now that I have a comfortable pair made for my legs, I have so many new outfit ideas!

I’m super into the combination of navy and black – it feels sharp and modern.  This dress and boot mix is incredibly versatile too; easy to dress up or down just by swapping out a few accessories.

This dress is just the right length for me – because it comes in petite!  At 5’4″ on a good day, Lane Bryant’s regular length dresses can run a little long for the skirt and boot combo, so I love that they offer petite styles tailored to my proportions.  The fit on this dress is spot on throughout.

Look 3: Crushing on Velvet Details

Velvet is the runaway (and runway) texture of Fall 2017, and there’s no need to restrict it to clothing only.  I knew I had to have these oxblood crushed velvet sock boots from the moment I saw them online.  When I finally got them on my feet, they were everything I was hoping for.  The wide width cut keeps my toes happy, and the stretch keeps the fit spot on without cutting into my legs.

I can’t usually do a heel this high, but the block heel and perfect fit made these much more comfortable.

The height of the boots was perfect to pair with ankle denim from Lane Bryant’s new Super Stretch Skinny line (which actually hit at the right length for me because they are petite!  Having a good plus petite option makes all the difference).

With a marled knit sweater and a complementary velvet lacing detail, this boots + denim combo hits the right balance of laid back and considered.  This look could work just as well for an afternoon coffee shop date as for a casual holiday party.
