Casual Liquid Gold
Metallics often get pigeon-holed as holiday-only wear, with people treating them like Christmas trees: Fun and festive until January 1st, and then its time to put them away until next year. I don’t think there is an expiration date on sparkle, though – it is all about how you wear it.
I ordered this shimmery gold jersey tee after the New Year (along with a few more pieces from Elvi’s excellent Transitional collection – posts coming soon), with full intention to wear it day-to-day. The ringer detail on the neckline is a fun little nod to the 90’s, but the shape and shine of this top make it feel new. Paired with black denim and my favorite chunky ankle boots, this was perfect for a casual brunch at BLVD Bistro (home of the BEST blueberry buttermilk pancakes in NYC, hands down).
You can play the glinty metallic of this top up or down depending on your styling, and I decided to accentuate it with gold details. I love that it is enough of a neutral to work with silver, as well – I have so many ideas for how to wear this piece!
