So many of this year’s trends are tied to the overarching retro aesthetic that has ruled the runways, and the proliferation of lace up details is just another example.  With an effect that is a strange marriage of hippie and sexy, lace up dresses and tops have a distinctly throwback feel.  I’ve been keeping an eye out for the right piece, and this marled grey skater dress from Boohoo’s plus line got me to take the plunge (literally and figuratively, in this case).
