The dress code for my brother’s wedding said “beach formal,” and while I agree with The Man Repeller that that’s not a real thing, I still knew just the dress for the occasion. The hi-low hem and the tropical photoreal floral made it beachy, and the flowing chiffon kept it from being too casual. Thank goodness for Gwynnie Bee – this is a gorgeous dress, but definitely a one-wear deal for me (it doesn’t strike me as a very NYC look). I emailed the ladies at GB with a request about a month and a half in advance, and got the dress in plenty of time to spare myself shopping for tropical climes in the midst of stores filled with polar vortex wear.

The hemline was also perfect for showing off my favorite ankle wrap wedges and my new Zoya polish. A coral statement necklace completed the look.
