I’ve loved the idea of a sweatshirt mini dress since I first saw my blogger friends rocking the style, but I hadn’t had any luck finding one of my own until this weekend.  When I spotted this rich burgundy number on the rack at Rainbow, I had to try it on.

The length is mega-mini, even on my relatively petite stature (5’4″ on a good day!), but I love the cheeky contrast with the covered up sportswear vibe on top.

Paired with my favorite over the knee boots in a deep navy and my silver Alexander Wang ‘Rockie’ bag, I felt simultaneously hot (figuratively) and warm (very literally – the immensely soft sweatshirt material of this dress is SO snuggly).  When the temperature dropped later that night, I switched to opaque leggings and my favorite Ellos suede ankle boots for a more casual look that still felts considered.  I also love the idea of this worn as a top with distressed boyfriend jeans and ankle boots.  This exact dress is sold out online at Rainbow, but if you have a store nearby you might be able to find one of your own.  If you are not in the NY area, I’ve rounded up some fun sweatshirt dress options in plus:
