OOTD: Office Monochrome
I’ve been looking for a tuxedo blazer for a while, so when I saw this one in Burlington for $40, I snapped it up. As you may have noticed, I am a big proponent of the transformative properties of a blazer, and the tuxedo blazer takes that to a whole new level. The added formality of the style can work for evening (of course), but it can also be styled down with jeans. For me, the challenge was to make it work for the mid-ground: A corporate office environment. The jacket is definitely a statement piece when it comes to workwear, and pairing it with a bright color was a bit too much for my office; at the same time, using it as a topper for a solid black look seemed almost like a cop out. I struck the right balance with a printed monochrome top. My new favorite pencil skirt finished off the look.
