Spring Dress Refresh with Lane Bryant
The post is sponsored by partner Lane Bryant. All thoughts and opinions are my own, as always!
I know the calendar says it was the same length as every other year, but I don’t believe it – this winter felt like the longest ever. As much as I’ve enjoyed snuggling up in cozy loungewear, I am in dire need of a change. Nothing says spring to me like pretty new dresses, so as soon as I saw them start to pop up in the Lane Bryant new arrivals, I was warm weather wardrobe dreaming.
It wasn’t easy to narrow down my cart (there are so many cute options!), but in the end I chose three dresses that I can see myself wearing throughout the sunny days ahead, and that are versatile enough to style for lots of different vibes and occasions. Check out my three picks below and how I’ll be wearing them all spring and summer:
Delicate pastels are having a major moment, so this ethereal blush number caught my eye immediately. And it is even more striking in person – it is interwoven with a subtle gold thread that catches the spring sunlight, and the fabric has a little textural detail throughout.
The ruffle hemline is a nod to another spring trend, but one that is low-key enough to not look out of place later – which is good, as I expect I’ll be wearing this faux wrap dress for years to come. Worn with a textured gold pair of my favorite block heel sandals (I have this same LB style in a bunch of colors and always want more), this dress is ready for spring holidays, socially distanced summer weddings, or just any day you want to feel like a gossamer forest fairy.
If bold colors are more your speed, this season’s vibrant orchid purple trend is for you. Tiered dresses are THE silhouette of 2021, and this linen-blend number will keep you cool – literally and figuratively – through the hottest days of August.
For now, I’m wearing it with this fun denim jacket and these comfy stretch fabric sneakers for a look that is both eye-catching and casual. The dusty rose hue of these shoes made them an obvious choice for me when ordering (especially paired with the rich purple of this dress), but now that I’ve worn them and know how comfortable they are, I might have to get another pair in classic grey or black too – the cushion sole makes for an easy transition from barely wearing shoes during a year of staying at home!
Pretty Plaid (for Now & Later)
If it isn’t quite warm enough for diaphanous spring frocks where you are, don’t despair. Choose a lightweight number like this plaid dress, and layer it under a faux leather blazer (another key piece for the season) or a cropped biker jacket. Cutout booties anchor the black jacket and keep your feet warm to ward off any lingering winter chill. And as the weather warms up, this dress will be perfect by itself with some colorful sandals for a cheerful picnic-ready vibe. No matter how you style it, this dress is a dream. It was the first spring dress I’ve worn in 2021, and I just felt so pretty in it!
