I can’t get enough of the statement pant suit trend this season: It is versatile, fashion forward, and exudes power and confidence.  It is pretty amusing that years after having a career that required me to wear suits, I am now embracing them wholeheartedly.  I’m sure there are many factors at play there, but one of the most apparent is the improvement in design and variety for plus size options.  There has been a marked increase even since this August, when I struggled to find just one bold print suit for my Fall Trend Report lookbook.  Eloquii came through with the floral number above just in time for the shoot (which I am still wearing on a regular basis), but I’m so happy to see more gorgeous options available now.  I’ve scoured the internet for the best trend-forward suiting in plus, and rounded them up for you below:

At the top of my #wardrobewant list is the pink glitter suit from Premme, the new plus label from blogger OGs Gabi Gregg and Nicolette Mason.  It outdoes even the most sequined gown for winning the holiday party purposes, and the longline jacket and wide leg trousers can each be a luxe statement on its own.  Fuschia is also my pick for THE color of 2018, so get this suit now and prepare to reach for it time and time again.

The Tracee Ellis Ross for JCPenney collection has two amazing options: One longline red dusted and wide leg pant, and one classic tuxedo if you are looking for something more versatile, color wise.

Quick sizing note: I love the Elvi pinstripe suit, but be sure to size way up in the pants – I sized up one and they were so tight I ripped the side out before I even walked out the door 🙁
