Flame Inspired

As I’ve written before, red is this season’s top color trend, and I am loving the resurgence of this power color.  Last week, before temperatures plummeted, I was feeling so inspired by the hue that I put together a look of all my favorite red (and red-adjacent) pieces.  The end result was basically the flame emoji as a color palette, and I’m into it.

The bright blood orange sweater is from Ellos and likely wouldn’t work as a dress on anyone taller than me (indeed, it was pretty scandalous on my 5’4″ frame – I had little shorts on underneath).  To make this look work for taller frames (and/or cooler temps), I’d suggest opaque tights or red pants or leggings in a contrasting texture – shine would be a great (and very timely) addition to the mix.

These buckle accent boots are wide width, and are available at Boohoo, which has a growing selection of wide fit options.  The beret is from Forever 21, and is becoming a go-to after a few wears. A swipe of my favorite matte red lipstick from NARS completed the outfit.

I felt amazing in this look, and it was a fun reminder of the value of just going for it.  There’s no hiding while wearing this fiery palette, and that is a good thing.  If you are looking for more red pieces of your own, check out my red color trend story.
