Elevated Athleisure with Rachel Roy

I’ve been a big fan of Rachel Roy’s designs for years, and found favorites to add to my wardrobe as soon as she launched her plus collection Rachel Roy Curvy in early 2016.  Since then, she has continued to offer chic, on-trend pieces in plus, and does not water her designs down for the Curvy line (as is all too common).

When I was looking for a modern athleisure look for NYFW, I hit the proverbial jackpot with this look from Rachel Roy (unfortunately, my shipping receiver had a mix up so I didn’t get it till after, but this look is still going to get a lot of mileage in my wardrobe).  Both the one shoulder top (one of the biggest trends for Fall 2017) and the side stripe pants are made of a lightweight stretch crepe – more sophisticated than jersey, but still really comfortable.  I sized up one on the top to make sure to accommodate my bust, but I probably could have stayed with my true size given the stretch.

This top is somehow both a statement piece and a classic – style it how you would a classic white button down, and watch the compliments roll in.  And the fit on these pants!  The Rachel Roy Curvy fit designers need a shoutout for this perfection – they lay perfectly on my waist and create a long line on my short legs.  I will be mixing and matching both of these pieces with other items in my wardrobe too, but they are really special together.
