I am such a fan of jumpsuits – with just one piece of clothing, you’re instantly pulled together and fashion forward. There’s a jumpsuit for every style and occasion, from laid back and casual to sleek and formal. They’ve even received the Jenna Lyons stamp of approval for the red carpet. I know from personal experience that the style can be intimidating for the uninitiated, but all you have to do is find one you love and you’ll be a convert. Fit is so important with jumpsuits, so don’t be scared to try a bunch on, and send back the ones that don’t fit. Gwynnie Bee is great for this: It’s where I got my 70’s glam jumpsuit for Halloween(above); and in fact is how I found my first true jumpsuit love, the BB Dakota Adele.
I wear this thing ALL THE TIME. It is my go-to travel outfit, and saw over 1800 miles of driving on #epictripns15. This item also disproves the idea that all jumpsuits are a PITA to use the restroom in – its no harder to get in and out of than a pair of pants. Look for a wide, surplice, or open neckline if this logistical concern is the thing that is making you hesitant about jumpsuits 🙂
Some of my favorite jumpsuits have been black, but there is no need to stick to one hue. The rich autumnal color of this Elvi Jumpsuit makes a major impact. I love the subtle nod to the military-inspired trend of this piece – just a hint in the structure, without being too literal.
This Fashion to Figure Draped Jumpsuit comes in purple too, and is on sale now! Very versatile, and great fit.
If your aesthetic is more downtown than Studio 54, this 17 Sundays Mei Smith Denim Boiler Suit is just the statement piece.
For full on fashion, go with a dramatically cut Jibri Draped Jumpsuit, available in a variety of prints and colors seasonally.
