Quick Look: NYFW Day 1

Global warming is real, and the first few days of NYFW in recent years has always been proof of that in my mind.  What used to be pleasant early fall days have lately been sweltering, humid and torturous. With temperatures reaching the high 90’s, all of my fall-inspired outfit ideas for Day 1 of NYFW instantly went out the window.  Thankfully, I had this light and airy colorblock dress in my favorite color combo from Corey Lynn Calter for Gwynnie Bee to keep me from bursting into flames while running from show to show.

Corey Lynn Calter is an independent designer who makes chic contemporary looks with a creative aesthetic – her straight size line is carried at Anthropologie, to give you an idea.  I used to work right by a huge Anthro, and often longingly looked at her designs, so I absolutely love that Gwynnie Bee was able to reach out to Corey and get her to do plus sizes exclusively for GB members.  There is nothing else like this dress available in plus, and I got compliments on it all day while surrounded by people dressed in their best fashion week lewks.  This is just one designer collab that Gwynnie Bee has done, and there even are more to come.  If you haven’t tried Gwynnie Bee out yet, you can get your first month free with my referral link at the bottom of the post.
