OOTD: NYFW Day 1

For the first day of New York Fashion Week, all black just felt like the way to go.  I got my huge Carmakoma order in mail the day before (they have lightning fast shipping, especially considering that it’s coming from Denmark), and these faux leather pants were just calling my name.  I don’t usually wear full outfits of a brand, but the monochrome tiger face Carmakoma Nordend sweatshirt I got from Gwynnie Bee was just too perfect not to wear with the pants. Reason #378 I love GB: I can get pieces that I love but are sold out everywhere else, like this perfect sweatshirt.  An icy blue coat was just the pop of color I needed to complete the look, and complemented the honey cognac shade of my bag and shoes.

My ankle booots are old favorites from Miista – the mid heel height was perfect for a packed day of shows. The Loeffler Randall studded hobo is from my latest subscription service, Rent the Runway Unlimited. RTR tends to be known for occasion wear, but this subscription service is more for everyday, and focuses on accessories.  I’ve only received one shipment thus far, as I wanted to hold on to this spacious bag throughout fashion week (you end up getting so many little things at the shows that add up as the day goes on).  I’ll be posting a review of the service once I more fully test it out, but if you want to join in the meantime (they are currently offering a special beta price of $49 a month), sign up here.  I was on the waitlist for a couple of months before I got in, so if you are interested, you might want to sign up sooner than later!
