It’s been over 7 years (!!!) since I first start It’s been over 7 years (!!!) since I first started #plussizeplease as a movement and a tool for plus shoppers to express what they want to shop in plus. There’s still a lot of work to do, but it makes me so happy to see cool new shopping platforms like @theyes listen and add plus sizes, especially from designers I love like @tanyataylor. The Yes is all about matching you with fashion that speaks to your aesthetic - something we so often did not get to do as plus size shoppers just trying to find things that fit. I’m excited to swipe left and right on looks and see how well they get to know my vibe. Thank you @savemolly for creating this fun animation of me to celebrate plus sizes on #TheYes 💜 (First blazer photo by @karyaschanilec from NYFW). #tanyataylorpartner
Attention everyone who always asks about my red @t Attention everyone who always asks about my red @telfarglobal bag: They are doing a red drop RIGHT NOW! This has become far and away my fave go-to purse in the medium (big enough to carry everything I need for a full day running around NYC), and it’s perfect with my glasses ❤️ They sell out in minutes so get it now if you’ve been eyeing it!
As a kid who grew up seeking out every fashion mag As a kid who grew up seeking out every fashion magazine I could find, I’ve longed for designer fashion for decades. I dreamt of a time when I’d be able to afford to splurge on a beautiful dress, or a statement piece that made me smile every time I put it on. Now that I’m an established adult, I find that the thing most often stopping that dream from becoming a reality is less about budget and more about size. So many designer labels ignore or outright shun plus size women, often publicly giving weak excuses for their exclusion, while privately admitting that they think proximity to fatness will devalue their cultural cache. To that I say: Proceed at your own peril. Labels that continue to disrespect the most populous market segment are prioritizing anti-fat bias over business, because I know for a fact that the plus size luxury shopper exists (and I have a whole segment of Curvily reader babes that fall in that exact category). Plus consumers deserve equal respect and representation too, so even if they don’t offer plus yet, luxury brands can take a step in the right direction by working with plus size people and showcasing them on their feeds and in their shows in their sunglasses, handbags, and luxe beauty.

To that end, @katiesturino and @nicolettemason created the #FatBabesInLuxury initiative to highlight gorgeous plus size people in luxury, because we are here and we deserve upscale options too. Fashion is meant to be forward-looking, not stuck in the past, so I have to shout out luxe brands that are getting it right without having to be dragged into the light, like @baacalofficial @chromat @tanyataylor @jibrionline @tamara.malas @zelieforshe @samanthapleet @henning @mayes_nyc and more (there’s actually a designer guide coming soon to the blog too!). I am all about supporting brands that support us, and I hope more high end brands will join that list soon.

Starting the workweek with a MAJOR new blog post: Starting the workweek with a MAJOR new blog post: The 2021 Plus Size Workwear Guide! After we heard the disappointing news that Loft was suddenly discontinuing their plus size section, I got SO many messages from plus shoppers dismayed that their main place for workwear would no longer be an option. So I did a deep dive of the market and rounded up all the best office-friendly brands that offer plus sizes on CurvilyFashion.com. Whether you are looking for a similarly priced Loft replacement or a chic upgrade to your work wardrobe, there are 26 brands for you to consider #ontheblog. I also have some Curvily-reader exclusive discounts for some of my favorites there, so definitely check it out if you are thinking about your back to the office wardrobe, or just want to switch up your Zoom looks. What do you look for in workwear? Let’s chat about it below!
I didn’t realize just how much I missed spring w I didn’t realize just how much I missed spring weekend strolls around the city, popping into little shops, people watching, and enjoying the weather. Because I work in fashion, I’m often shopping with a mission, but this time I just let myself browse and explore. I ended up a little wedge of fancy cheese and a spicy fig spread from @murrayscheese, and some sheer sunscreen and bargain sheet masks from @themaskbar_official. I even found a paperback copy of one of my favorite books (Sabriel by Garth Nix, with the original cover art!) to replace my lost copy. Basically, I’m a happy girl 😊 I hope you’re having a nice spring weekend too! #newyorkcityplus #plussizeblogger #weekendstyle #andigetdressed

Hopping on this outdoor mirror trend a year late, Hopping on this outdoor mirror trend a year late, because NYC finally gave me an opportunity in the form of discarded mirror on a recycling pile. One man’s trash is another woman’s IG photo opp - that’s how that saying goes, right? 😁
