Curvily Spring Trend Report: Crop Tops

There’s no denying it: Crop tops are one of the biggest trends for Spring/Summer 2014. They were everywhere on the runways; even reluctant fashion writers have embraced them; and celebrity style stars are rocking them for every situation, including the red carpet. Never mind what outmoded fashion “rules” say, this is a look that can work for everybody.

Fortunately, more plus size retailers are paying attention to the trends these days, and there are tons of fun plus size crop tops available right now. I’ve scoured the internet to find the best ones for you in every style. Bralette style crops are perfect for a hot summer day with a flowy skirt, or for a night out with a high waisted pencil skirt. Cheap basic crop tops can go from layering pieces to casual weekend looks with ease – the blue heathered crewneck by CustomPlus would look particularly great with some high waisted cutoffs. I love that there are also indie plus size designers offering structured, architectural crop tops, like Rue 107’s sharp shoulder or Jibri’s dramatic sleeves.
