Summer Blush
I’ve been increasingly drawn to shades of pink this year, from the more neutral dusty rose tone to this classic blush. I don’t know if I would have even picked this top up a few seasons ago, but now that I know pinks don’t necessarily wash me out (even with my significant rosy undertones), it is like a whole new world is open to me. I feel a bit like Anne Shirley once she finally wears pink (sidenote: Anyone else watching “Anne with an E” on Netflix? I’m loving it, but be warned that the first episode will make you cry!)
The cold shoulder + ruffle combination is showing no signs of slowing down (it was very prevalent on the Fall 2016 runways during NYFW), so I felt good adding this statement piece to my wardrobe. The VERY reasonable price tag made the decision even easier: $14.99 for a top that is a compliment magnet? Why not!
These blush mules are another must have for me – I’ve dubbed this the summer of the block heel mule, and this lighter tone is perfect for warm weather looks. This great pink metallic clutch came with a Dorina bra JCPenney sent me to try – unfortunately, the top size in the range did not work for me. The bra is very pretty and affordable though, and goes up to a size 40G, so check the brand out if you are in the size range!
These are the same jeans featured in my dusty rose look, and they have become a go-to pair for me this summer. The mid wash and ankle length work with so many outfits, and the stretch makes them a comfortable option. If you are looking for more good ankle denim options, check out my round up of the three key styles in this must-have length.
