The minute I laid eyes on this shag coat from Boohoo, I knew I had to have it.  Over the top in the best way, I lovingly refer to it as my muppet fur coat, a la Man Repeller.  

It is not “flattering” in the traditional sense – it certainly isn’t showing off my figure or making me look smaller – but it is wonderfully fun.  As I’ve discussed before, there is so much more to fashion than minimizing ourselves, so the extra fluff is not a problem.

The first time I wore it out, I paired it with an all-black ensemble to let the coat star, with my Miista holographic bag for a pop of color.  I initially thought that this coat would be more of a statement piece for me, only worn occasionally and with a simple base, but I’ve found myself drawn to this cozy floof of a coat time and again.  I threw it over a jumble of contrasting textures the next time I wore it, with a patterned crinkly chiffon top, pebbled pants, and perforated creepers:
