OOTD: Isabel Toledo LBD

I’ve been a fan of Isabel Toledo‘s work long before she first collaborated with Lane Bryant. Aside from loving her designs for Michelle Obama, I met both her and her husband Ruben at an intimate panel at Neuehouse in 2013, and left feeling more creatively inspired than I had in a long time.

They are seriously such lovely and talented people, so was I absolutely thrilled when I heard they were doing a plus size designer collab, and I have been watching the collections closely since. I was smitten with this little black dress the moment I saw the lookbook (starring the gorgeous Marquita Pring). When I saw fellow blogger Beck of Manfattan wearing it to perfection, I loved it even more, but was also a bit worried if the length would work on me – there is a slight height difference between us, after all:

I decided to go for it anyways, and as soon as I put it on, I realized this might be the dress version of the traveling pants.  Even at 5’4″ with no heels on, it hit at just the right spot on my legs. I instantly felt chic and pulled together, and got compliments all day long.  I added cobalt tights and my favorite laceless patent boots to give it a more casual feel, but it would look amazing with pumps too – a perfect desk to dinner piece.

Even better, this magical LBD is on sale right now!  The quality and construction of this dress make it well worth the original price, so snap this up if you are thinking about it.
