OOTD: Mixed Media
This outfit has a bit of everything: Leather, sheer, leopard, suede, iridescent, velveteen… and I love it. I love how the varied textures and shades worked together, and I love that I wasn’t scared to mix them together in the first place. That sartorial daring is a reminder of how my personal style has evolved since I started documenting my OOTDs almost a year ago. When I was able to stopped worrying about the “rules” of fashion, I started truly having fun with it.
Gwynnie Bee has been instrumental in this process: Being able to try out-of-my-comfort-zone pieces risk free has allowed me to discover new favorites, like this Mynt 1792 skirt. When I first saw it, I thought it was objectively very cool, but I didn’t think the leather and leopard combo was “me.” But once I got it from Gwynnie Bee, I fell in love. The fit felt like it was made for me, and I was very impressed with the attention to detail: The faux leather accents are perfectly placed, and even the pocket lining feels luxurious (so much so that I made my husband come over and put his hands in my pockets when I noticed it!) I ended up purchasing it through Gwynnie Bee’s “Try Then Buy” program, and it is now a new wardrobe staple for me.
