A Statement Midi for Brunch
Sometimes you see a piece and immediately know you need it. Not in the pragmatic sense of the word, but the dramatic one. That was me the moment I spotted this gorgeous Eloquii embroidered midi skirt.
The giant fancy goldfish print isn’t filling any practical hole in my wardrobe, but it is bringing me serious sartorial happiness.
A skirt this good is worthy of my birthday weekend brunch. We headed to one of my favorite spots in all of NYC, BLVD Bistro on Lenox Avenue. Despite being a *smidge* hungover from my party the night before, I knew we had to get there early because it has truly become a hot spot. On the way home, my husband mentioned how much he loves that such a great place is truly getting the shine it deserves – not because of some pre-manufactured hype, but just because it really, really good. I’m going to be doing a full post on BLVD brunch soon, but in the meantime, go before 11:00 and get the blueberry buttermilk pancakes!
This outfit pairing was a snap even in my grumbly-not-yet-had-coffee state, and very comfortable while looking put together (my favorite combination!) This asymmetric cutout top is a statement of its own, and a fresh take on the ubiquitous cold shoulder trend (which is here to stay for at least a couple more seasons, BTW!) I’ll be wearing this tee with ankle jeans for an easy weekday look.
