Memorial Day Weekend in the City
Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial kick off of summer, but this year sunny skies and warm temperatures were nowhere to be found. So instead of heading to the beach like we usually do, we stayed in NYC and enjoyed the relatively empty streets of Soho (except Broadway – Broadway is always absurdly crowded on the weekend).
I decided that even if the weather was going to be gloomy, my outfit didn’t have to be. I wore my latest Gwynnie Bee dress, a pretty patterned Adrianna Papell midi. Apparently it worked well enough to draw the sun out for one brief, shining moment (literally).
Unfortunately, the sun retreated back behind the clouds almost immediately. We still had a lovely day strolling around Soho and Nolita, browsing shops and looking at street art until the dropping temps ushered us back towards the subway with promises of warm cuddling on the couch at home. It ended up being a very relaxing long weekend, and I loved it.
I have to admit I am looking forward to warmer weather though: There are so many cute options at Gwynnie Bee that I can’t wait to wear! I love having the option to wear something once (like this dress) and send it back for something new, or to hold on to a piece for as long as I want.
