OOTD: New Year’s Eve at the Ace Hotel

NYE in New York is always something of a conundrum for me.  I want to go out and dance with my friends and my husband, but I don’t want to end up at a miserably packed, crappy party with overpriced drinks, or an ostensibly open bar with a $100+ cover and no way to sit down unless I buy a table.  Venturing anywhere near the Times Square revelers is a dicey preposition too.  The Higher Ground party at the Ace Hotel sounded fantastic though, so we all braved the crowds and ended up having a fantastic night ringing in 2016.
I decided to forego being fashionably late per usual, and we showed up a couple of minutes before the scheduled opening, snagged a prime couch for the group, and my wonderful husband took a few OOTD snaps for me while there was still space to do so.  Shortly thereafter, the dance floor was alive, and I got to test out how comfy my new pumps were (Answer: Very!)  My asymmetrical cutout dress was perfect for dancing, too – the side slits and the soft jersey let me move, and the midi length prevented any wardrobe malfunctions while dipping it low 😀
