Shoe Crush: Matt Bernson Pre-Fall
Years before I started Curvily, I attended an art opening at the Matt Bernson Tribeca store with a good friend. While I enjoyed the striking photography on exhibit, I was even more entranced by the shoes displayed on the wall – my type of art 😉 Perfectly exemplifying downtown chic, I was immediately smitten with the brand. Chatting with the designer of the eponymous line further piqued my interest.
Made for the New York girl, Matt Bernson’s shoes are eminently walkable. Most have memory foam soles, which is the best use of technology I can think of. I currently own four pairs of MB shoes, and am having a hard time not immediately doubling my collection, by buying everything from this year’s Pre-Fall.
I first saw these on-trend chunky mules at the LaForce Stevens fall press preview, and have been daydreaming about them ever since. The construction is flawless, and the cutouts add a modern twist to the very retro style.
Even at his most minimal, like this flat mule, the Matt Bernson aesthetic is evident. If you are looking for more of a statement, the perfect ankle wrap Zola Cheetah flats are the obvious choice. Wear them with everything – leopard is a neutral, after all.
[This post is not sponsored, this is just an ode to my favorite Pre Fall collection. Sometimes you just have to fawn over shoes.]
