Curvily’s Holiday Gift Guide
It is officially the last minute (tomorrow is the last day for free Christmas shipping at most online retailers), but no fear – I’m here with gift picks guaranteed to get smiles. When it comes to gifting, my philosophy is to give something that the recipient would love to have, but would not spend on themselves for. Those little [or big] luxuries are often prized more than practical gifts. I’ve rounded up some gift ideas for all types of recipients – let me know your favorite below, and feel free to share this post with anyone who might need a hint 😉
This oversized glitzy cuff will amp up any outfit, and the price makes it a steal that looks like a splurge.
Vosges Ensemble du Chocolate, $135
I know over $100 seems crazy for chocolate, but as someone who has received this gift box, I have to testify on its behalf: It is THE REAL DEAL. This box lasted months, and every piece feels like a little decadent vacation. If you are shopping for a true chocolate lover who likes creative flavors (like curry truffles or blood orange caramels), this is the best gift you can give. If they prefer tamer chocolate fare, try Vosges’ decadent caramel toffee.
Kate Spade Mikas Pond Lacey Wallet, $79
I have and love a leather Lacey Wallet from Kate Spade, and it is still going strong after 3 years (and it is ivory!) This bold turquoise wallet is a fun update, and is part of the Surprise [Gift] Sale, where all gifts come pre-wrapped (aka perfect last minute pick!)
I would happily take one of everything from Chromat, but since many pieces require measurements for the best fit, a great gift for someone with edgy style is the crown headband. I mean, how cool does it look on?
West Elm Gilded Dapper Animal Mugs, $7
If the person you are shopping could accurately be described as “whimsical,” these dapper animal mugs from West Elm are the perfect way to make them smile every time they have their morning coffee. At $6.99 a piece, you can spring for the full set of four.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Watch, $275
Oversized gold watches don’t seem like they are going anywhere anytime soon, and a luxe watch makes a fantastic gift. I love this Marc by Marc Jacobs piece – the grey gold tone dial sets it apart from the usual suspects.
A luxe robe fits the “wouldn’t buy it for myself but I love it” bill so perfectly. There is something so indulgent about walking around the house in satin instead of an old tee shirt. If you are looking for something more affordable and cozy, but still elevated from chain store fare, try Natori’s Shangri-La Robe in super-soft modal jersey.
Hanky Panky Leopard Nouveau Cami and Boyshorts
For a sexier take on lounge wear, the Leopard Nouveau set from Hanky Panky is a great gift – both comfortable and chic.
3.1 Phillip Lim Tiger iPad Sleeve, $175
If the person you are shopping for is always glued to their tech, get them the chicest iPad sleeve in the world (which, let’s be real, can totally double as a clutch).
Slippers are kind of a clichéd gift, so if you are getting them for someone, they better be amazing. These perfect raccoon face ones from Kate Spade definitely qualify.
If you are shopping for a frequent traveler, get her THE best shirt to maximize her luggage space – the sustainably made Evolve top from Encircled. I love this top for a few reasons: 1) It is ridiculously versatile; 2) The designer listened to #plussizeplease and added larger sizes; and 3) It has the great side perk being amazing for wiping rain off glasses 🙂 Paired with a monogram travel tag, you have the perfect gift for any jet setter.
Lane Bryant Shaker Knit Infinity Scarf, $29
Another personal recommendation is this chunky infinity scarf – I don’t usually include selfies in gift guides, but the picture on the website don’t accurately convey how wonderfully cozy this scarf is (SO COZY).
