As much as I love putting together an outfit, I still appreciate dresses that make the look on their own.  This chevron shift dress from the indie plus label Lucie Lu is just such a piece.  I pulled it out of my latest Gwynnie Bee box and immediately put it on.  I added neutral flats, my go-to black purse, and a black and cream studded bracelet to pull the accessories together.

The length of this shift is perfect for those on the petite side (like me).  It is lightly lined as well, so it doesn’t cling like shift dresses are wont to do – no smoothing Spanx needed!  The color, style, and pattern transitioned perfectly from work to a festive birthday party.
