Aside from the fabulous Isabel Toledo collection, I’ve never really been drawn to Lane Bryant clothing – it just wasn’t my style.  So I was surprised to see who was behind the new plus size line 6th & Lane.  The line is more fashion forward than their usual offerings, with a mix of statement pieces (the high neck leather jacket; the asymmetrical sheer overlay dress) and wardrobe staples with a twist (like the pencil skirt with chiffon edging).

I love that there are sharp suiting options as well – there is a real paucity of non-frumpy plus size suits.  I’d wear both the straight and wide leg pants with either of the blazers above.  With the pencil skirt, it would be an instant mix and match suit wardrobe.  The separates are working for me too: The white sheer overlay top is chic and practical – the asymmetrical accent is perfect to cover pants that are too tight in the crotch but fit great everywhere else (we all have a pair hehe)

The faux leather pieces look great too, and the high necklines look edgy instead of stodgy.  I really want the top on the left – I can think of so many ways to wear it!20140715-081357-29637006.jpgOf course I’m loving the prints, too.  I NEED this dress, and I want both the marble print sweatshirt and the thick ankle strap pumps.  I’d pair it with a fitted black pencil skirt to balance out the volume.
