With temperatures cracking 90, it seems summer is here (however intermittently).  For me, that means a few things: 1) Longing for the beach and wondering why despite NYC being a series of islands, every beach is 1.5+ hours from my house; 2) SO MUCH COLD BREW; and, more pertinently, 3) shorts season!  I need at least a few good pairs of cutoffs in my wardrobe every summer.  They are such a warm weather staple, and can work for aesthetics from minimal to boho and beyond.  They are also a great option for throwing on over a swimsuit post-beach if you aren’t a coverup person.

If you are looking for a style that is less fitted in the thighs, I highly recommended the Girlfriend Short from Lane Bryant.  I picked up this lace trim pair in store, and they are so comfortable that I predict you’ll be seeing me in them a lot this summer. P.S. If you are worried about thigh chafing, I highly recommend Megababe’s Thigh Rescue.  I absolutely swear by this product for shorts – it has been a real game changer for me.  I’ve walked 8+ miles in a day with no reapplication and not a bit of chub rub!
