Ashley Graham Just Launched a New Plus Size Brand (with sizes up to 5x!)

A new plus size label just dropped – and it is not a one-off collab, either! Ashley Graham’s new plus size collection is a JCPenney exclusive, and comes in sizes 0X-5X (14W-30W in numerical sizes), and I got the preview the debut collection in person at the launch party this week.

The 40 piece debut collection is not your basic JCPenney fare, either. At the launch party, Ashley spoke about how she wanted to be deeply involved throughout the design process, and the result is a mix of date-night ready dresses, chic separates that can go from work to weekend, fun printed mesh, knits, denim, and lots of VERY cute outerwear, including faux fur coats that look and feel a lot more expensive than they are – and this faux suede trench is gorgeous!

During the fireside chat portion of the NYC launch, JCPenney CEO Michelle Wlazlo emphasized that plus has been a huge part of JCP’s business and that they were enthusiastic to take it even further with this long-term partnership with Ashley Graham. In an era where wayyyyy too many brands are quietly discontinuing their plus sizes, it makes me especially happy to see brands reaffirm their commitment to the majority market (over 67% of women wear sizes 14+, after all!).

I also REALLY love that this collection is plus-specific and includes extended plus sizes up to 5x/30W. And the cherry on top? The campaign and ecomm images include visibly plus size models of different shapes and sizes, not just the smallest end of the size range (something else that is all too common). The campaign images feature Graham and models including Tabria Majors, Emma Arletta, and singer Samrya.

Excuse the blurry selfie – the signature cocktails got me!

I’ve known Ashley for years now, and I’ve appreciated how outspoken she’s been about size inclusion in fashion – she even spoke on the NYFW panel Danielle James and I created about plus size inclusion on the runway last year. At the Ashley Graham Collection launch party, the vibe felt like a plus fashion family reunion, and it was so lovely to see Ashley beaming as she celebrated with the community.

I’ve included a carousel of my favorite pieces from the collection below, but you can shop the entire Ashley Graham Collection here.
