Desert Looks in Joshua Tree with Lane Bryant
I am so ready for warm weather (and warm weather looks!), so I took the opportunity of being in California last week to partner with Lane Bryant to shoot a mini summer lookbook in the sweeping, otherworldly setting of Joshua Tree National Park. There are already so many amazing spring and summer pieces available at LB (I mean, I tried to usher in spring with this pretty blush dress), but a few new additions really jumped out at me:
I spotted this coverup when I was looking at the newest swimwear, and immediately knew I was going to wear it as a dress. Between the cool contrasting marble prints and the minimal flowy silhouette, it is just what I look for in a summer dress.
It is also wonderfully lightweight, and rolls up tiny – perfect for packing. While in Cali, I ended up carrying this in my purse in case I needed extra sun coverage when I was in swim. It was so handy to have around!
The neckline is very bra-friendly too – great if you plan to wear it as a dress like me!

Pajama dressing has been having an extended moment in fashion circles, and while I love the idea, I kept stopping short of committing to any of the sets that look like they could be actual PJs. The moment I saw this duster and jogger set in Lane Bryant’s Night by Day Fast Lane collection, I knew I found the set for me.
The sheer longline jacket is so versatile, and will look amazing worn over a bikini or a tank and cutoffs in the summer. It could also add a punch of color to a simple monochrome look – how good would this be worn over a basic bodycon mini dress?
The fit on the joggers is fantastic too (size up if you are between the sizes – I am typically a 16/18 in pants and the 18/20 fit perfectly). And they have pockets!
I wore the set with my favorite Cacique strappy bralette, one of my go-to pieces in my wardrobe. Unlike so many bralettes, it actually has enough coverage to be versatile enough to wear with or without something underneath it. I’m wearing it here over the strapless bra I already had on, which is a great option if you want extra lift or smoothing. For days when I want more comfort (i.e. most of them!), I wear it by itself, and it still offers enough support to run around the city in confidently.
I loved the strip of exposed midriff here, but this jacket and pants set would look amazing with a simple black tank underneath too. Pro tip: If you are pushing yourself to try a new style (i.e. pajama dressing), don’t feel like you have to rush outside your comfort zone in every aspect!
