When I went to work on the Thursday before my birthday, I wasn’t thinking about what I was doing that night – I had a busy day ahead of me and my mind was focused on everything I had to do.  I threw on an ASOS swing dress from Gwynnie Bee, belted it to add some waist definition, and I was off.

As I wrapped up my workday, my husband asked where I wanted to go to dinner to celebrate the start of birth-weekend.  We ended up at one of my favorite spots, Caracas Arepas Bar, and I staved off an impending bout of “hangry” with a delicious De Pabellon.  SO GOOD.  The night also included a long walk to enjoy the pleasant weather, wine, ice cream, and bubble tea.  🙂  🙂  🙂

This easy dress worked for our impromptu date night, and is versatile enough to work as a day to night dress in many office settings.  In a more formal corporate workplaces, this dress could be styled with a black blazer and classic pumps.  Leaving it unbelted gives it more length, too.  The woven material also gives it a more polished feel than some of the stretch jersey ASOS swing dresses, which feel decidedly more weekend-y.

Style Tip: When shopping online, always check to see how the material is described.  “Woven” typically means a lighter weight fabric with little or no stretch; while “jersey” usually indicates t-shirt weight material with a good amount of stretch.
