I always take NYFW as a chance to wear looks that push me out of my comfort zone a bit, because what is fashion without risk?  So for my first full day of shows, I went with the pleated faux leather tie waist shorts I’ve been eyeing from UK plus label Elvi.  I thought of them as my Man Repeller shorts (always a compliment), and true to expectation, I received tons of love for them from other women in fashion.  Paired with a sartorial oxymoron – a turtleneck crop top – with tights and boots, I was able to brave the single digit temps that arrived just in time for fashion week (I was definitely chattering after this very brief OOTD shoot sans coat).  A pendant necklace from Rocksbox (first month free with code curvilyxoxo) completed the look.
