OOTD: Winter Color

I don’t know if its the purple hair, my rekindled love for minimalism, or the gloomy weather, but this winter has heralded a return of high levels of black in my wardrobe.  I’ve found myself drawn to the classic New York shade time and again.  Bold prints still catch my eye, though, so when this drape overlay dress from Mynt 1792 arrived in my Gwynnie Bee box, I decided it was time for some color.

As with almost everything I’ve tried from Mynt 1792, the fit is true to size, and the quality is fantastic.  There is a really cool electric cobalt edged exposed zipper in the back – these thoughtful details are still all too rare in plus.  This piece works with or without a belt, but the latter somehow felt more summery, so I belted it and added my trustee winter leggings and my favorite boots of the season.  A bold chain bracelet from the inclusive indie label Ready to Stare was just the thing to tie it all together.  When I wasn’t taking pics, I layered my wool wrap coat over it and was toasty enough for a just above freezing day.
