Igigi, one of the pioneers in plus contemporary, has their core aesthetic down pat.  They are known for their office-ready dresses and graphic prints, and I’ve worn many of their signature styles in the past.  But they aren’t just resting on the tried and true – their latest arrivals include fresh styles and silhouettes, including caftans, asymmetrical hems, and a jumpsuit.  So when they asked me to review an item* from their resort-esque Endless Summer collection, I was eager to check out the styles offered.  I was particularly excited to try their take on the jogger trend, which is one of my favorite pieces of the season.

Unlike the jersey knit joggers and harem pants I’ve worn before, Igigi’s version is a lightweight, silky stretch material.  That means there is less give, but a more polished feel.  They could easily be styled for work with a jewel tone top and a blazer.  The length was great on me – it hit a couple of inches below my calf muscle, and highlighted my ankles.

Igigi generally runs large, so I typically size down in their dresses.  Since this was my first foray into pants from them, I decided I’d order true to my regular pant size, just to be safe.  So I was a bit surprised to find that this style runs slightly small.  These, a size 16, fit and feel good on, but I could have comfortably sized up if I wanted a baggier “jogger” fit.  As it is, the fit is sleeker, while still nodding to the trend – it even has pockets 🙂

Since Igigi is trying something new with their styles, I figured I’d do the same and push myself with a jumpsuit style outfit.  There is an actual jumpsuit in the Endless Summer collection, but I didn’t know if I liked the style enough to go for it (I’ve never actually worn a jumpsuit!).  I figured I could get the look with the joggers and a black top, and then split the pieces up in the future.  This was definitely the right decision for me:  I am already styling this lightweight top and these pants a 100 ways in my head.  But I loved the faux jumpsuit styling too – it was the perfect mix of fun and sexy for a date night with my husband.  I’m glad I know this style can work for me, and I am now thinking of this outfit as kind of a “gateway jumpsuit.” 🙂

Accessories were key to keep the all-black look from falling flat.  I went with a tone-on-tone statement necklace and red pumps, and added some waist definition with a chain closure skinny belt.  I particularly love the gold detail on the belt – both functional and cool.

All in all, I am loving this new silhouette from Igigi, and I’m happy they are continuing to expand their offerings – the more stylish plus options, the better!  And you will definitely be seeing all of these pieces again – the top and pants are so versatile.
