When I first heard about cat cafes in Japan, where you can get a cup of coffee and pet the resident kitties, my immediate thought was “OMG New York needs one!!!”  Years later, we got one, albeit temporarily: Purina set up a pop-up cat cafe last weekend, with 16 adoptable cats to hang out with.  They also were offering free coffee, so the lines were long.  Though I pretty much refuse to stand in line for anything, I was ready to wait up to two hours to go to America’s first cat cafe.

This picture was taken on the way to the cafe – when I was still full of hope.  Then we got there, and the line was over four hours long, and there was no guarantee that we’d get in before it closed.  I made do with checking out the kitties in the window (adorable!).  And of course, my outfit celebrated cats 🙂  It was also a new look for me: Pairing a crop top with high waisted harem pants.  I am all about clothing that feels like pajamas without looking like them, and this combo certainly fit the bill.  I topped it with a striped blazer and added a cobalt purse for a pop of color.

The cat crop top is from the straight size section of H&M, but has plenty of stretch and would likely fit up to a size 20-22 in the large, though it would be great if they offered a better range of sizes than XS-L.  The pants are from H&M’s plus line, and I think pants is what they are doing best in plus right now.  I really like both these and my boyfriend jeans from them.  Now if they could just work on their selection of tops and dresses (less black and flowy things, please – it is spring!)
