Since seeing the Cabiria runway show at New York Fashion Week, I’ve been eagerly awaiting my chance to try the designs for myself.  That chance arrived in a box from Gwynnie Bee, with the “Stefania” dress in puzzle print.  This silhouette was one that walked the runway (in a lovely cream and gold silk), which made it all the more exciting to try.

I’ve seen Cabiria clothing up close before, both on the runway and on friends who own the dresses, but wearing exceeded my already high expectations.  After the endless polyester blends that dominate plus fashion, wearing pure silk felt like the happiest coup.  The cut was also very true to size, even accomodating my bust with no pulling at the buttons.

The style delighted me as well – it was just perfectly retro, without being costumey.  It was like finding a mint condition vintage gem (which is no easy feat, especially in plus sizes).  And it has pockets!  Win-win.  After this dress, I knew I needed more Cabiria in my life.
